The company Alfa Tim d.o.o. is 15.11.2018. started implementing the project “Research and development of nanostructured hard metals for the development of new products” in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding in Zagreb, working title “Nano Pro”.
The field of application of nanostructured hard metals is expanding more and more, but it is still not fully defined. The application of nanoparticles of hard metal powder achieves a homogeneous microstructure of the grain size of the starting powders and a significant improvement in mechanical properties and resistance to wear. That’s why the goal of this project is to expand their application and come up with new products.
The goal will be achieved through industrial research and experimental development within Alfa team d.o.o. in cooperation with project partners, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding.
The innovativeness and significance of the planned research in relation to the current state of hard metal products and technologies is related to several products that will be the result of project activities: nozzles for waterjet cutting, corrosion-resistant hard metals/tools and nanostructured hard metals/tools with alternative binders and reference plates hardness.
Goals and expected results of the project:
Develop new innovative materials and products from these materials, increase profitability, the number of employees and a more competitive position on the market.
Total value of the project: HRK 10,394,826.36
The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Fund for Regional Development through grants in the amount of HRK 7,338,029.62
